VOCG meeting and elections this Wednesday

The Village of Center Grove (VOCG) is having elections on Wednesday, October 20. Voting is at the Sailing Club (2990 S. Bayshore Drive) from 7 to 8:30 pm, which is part of their usual meeting.There are four vacancies and six new applicants. You must live in the center Grove district and be a paid member to run or vote.

On the ballot are incumbents Sue McConnell, president; Nathan Kurland, vice president; Trina Collins and Len Scinto. The new applicants include Jesse Casher, Gary Ciuca, Louis Del Borrello, Robert Klemm, Andres Lemos and Bryan McFarland.

Looks like we covered everything on their agenda in the Grapevine already, here is the agenda:

Liza Walton, administrator of our NET office, will be collecting candy for the
"Trunk or Treat" party in Village West. Also, Liza is asking for a list of problems that need to be solved in the neighborhood like graffiti, down signs, overgrown weeds, etc.

Carlos Lopez-Cantera, State Representative who is running for re-election, will speak briefly. Have you seen
his commercial with Felice Dubin and Nathan Kurland?

An
Ironman Triathlon representative will speak about the October 30 event.

Trina Collins will report on the
Gallery Walk.

Sue McConnell will speak about Chamber's Annual
Casino Night which is this Saturday night and there will be a discussion on the upcoming Mad Hatter Festival in November and Snow Days in December.

Possible
Virginia St. closure: Brief discussion by residents and affected businesses.

David Collins will report on the
median planting on S. Bayshore Dr., the BID's new proposed plan for renovating the Playhouse parking lot, new planting of holiday baskets on light poles, tree trimming in business district, and other projects.
