The pets seem to be taking over Barracuda's party!

Barracuda's Great Pumpkin Carving Contest on October 29, is becoming more and more a Pet Costume Contest! While the pet costume contest was always a part of the Great Pumpkin Carving Contest, more and more people are excited about the pet part!

So bring your pets, deck them out in their favorite costume (Underdog? Tigger? Snoopy? Sarah Palin?) and bring them along to vie for first place! There is also an adult costume contest and of course the jack-o-lantern contest, where you bring the pumpkins already carved and ready to be judged.

The Boys & Girls Clubs have their fresh selection of pumpkins and you can get them at The Fresh Market, Milam's and Publix. And the Spirit Costume store is open right on Grand Avenue, across from The Bookstore, so if you need a small costume for your dog, cat, bird or whatever, and cannot make your own, they are more than happy to help you out with that.

Barracuda's Second Annual Great Pumpkin Carving Contest (and pet costume and adult costume contest) is Friday, October 29 on Fuller Street, which will be closed and turned into a block party. It's from 7 pm to midnight. There is a live band (Bobby Hunter) and lots of beer! So come out and party like an animal, or at least have your pet do that part!

Channel 10 has a slide show of pet costume ideas here.
