Help send the Grove Martial Arts Team to Dublin

White Tiger & Dragon Martial Arts is having a Keep it Kickin' fundraiser on Saturday, October 16, to help raise funds to send their competition team to Dublin, Ireland, representing the U.S. in November.

The school has been around for 10 years. They never turn a child or adult away who is interested in learning martial arts. 20% of their students train on full scholarships and another 35% on partial scholarships.

The Karate Olympics, which happens every five years is a special event for both adults and children. The November 17 to 21 event in Dublin will cost each student about $2000 to attend, which includes the flight, hotel, seminar and tournament.

This Saturday's fundraiser, from 11 am to 5 pm, is at the karate school (2460 SW 28 Lane). Admission is $25, which includes a buffet and two drink tickets. There will be karate demonstrations, Japanese drummers, a bounce house, a live DJ and other entertainment throughout the day. A silent auction will also be part of the fun.
