Their spirits live on at the Playhouse

playhouse
A few of us were coming from Calamari and as we strolled through our little burg, we took a peek inside the decrepit Coconut Grove Playhouse. On the marque or whatever you call the board inside at the entrance, it lists all the shows for the season, the last one of course was Sonja Flew, staring Lucie Arnaz, but also on the list were Dixie Carter and Hal Holbrook in "Southern Comforts" and Harold Gould in Mitch Albom's "Tuesday with Maury."

Maury, Dixie and Harold have all passed away. It's a shame the Playhouse is almost in the same state as the three of them as it now houses the ghosts of performances past. They should open the place up for Halloween.

A black box theater is being worked on at the former Oxygen club space at the Mayfair, so that could help the Grove in that aspect of live theater and music.
