Too many large trucks are hurting tree canopy

damage1

A lot of damage is being done to the foliage on Tigertail and other areas of the Grove by large trucks.

This was done by this moving company just the other day. Two large moving trucks went up and down Tigertail, taking down tree branches in their path. They not only did damage to the trees, but to cars, too.

In one instance, a hanging branch stretched down and was like a sling shot. Every time a car drove under it, the branch literally slapped the windshield. It did that to mine and to the taxi who was in front of me, who had to stop because the branch actually shattered his windshield!

The same day, I saw a huge tractor trailer truck carrying cars down 17th Avenue. It was trying to turn onto South Bayshore Drive from 17th. With a truck full of cars on back. Why?

Is this legal? I thought that a few years ago a law was passed that would keep large trucks out of the neighborhoods.

Some dude collects expensive cars and there is a secret garage at the Mayfair where you can see tons of elegant expensive cars, this is the guy's personal garage. Trucks do come in, maybe this was one, and they take down every branch on Florida Avenue and Virginia Street when they deliver the cars. Why is no one accountable?

If the taxi driver or Tree Man Trust wants the culprit for the tree damage on Tigertail, there's the truck and number in the photo above.
