Saturday Night is Gallery Walk Night

Gallery Walkers are not making all the way to Commodore Plaza on Gallery Walk Nights. The next one is this Saturday, May 7. But it's well worth the trip visit the Cristina Chacon Gallery which is celebrating it's ArteAmericas exhibit. The gallery presented a mix of established and undiscovered Latin American artists to a global audience in March.

And now Cristina is bringing this same international magnetism back to the Grove this month, by presenting "Synergy" - an exhibition of three young artists, each with a different artistic strength and offering. Milena Arango (Colombia), Patricia Michelangeli (Venezuela) and Keiko Gonzalez (Paraguay) combine their talents to form a true synergy of art.

"Original French Vintage" is being shown at Grove Retrospective Gallery, at 2911 Grand Avenue. It is a temporary exhibition, displaying original French vintage posters from 1889 to 1938. The contemporary, pop art hub specializes in Andy Warhol and Salvador Dali originals and also offers more than 1,000 square feet of space for workshop, classrooms and special art education events.

"The Order of Chaos" is showing at the Rodez Art Gallery at CocoWalk.

In a world full of wars, natural disasters and uncertainties, it is refreshing to know that Chaos can sometimes also be a symbol of positivism and beauty. Three artists: Vicente Dopico-Lerner, Daniel Garcia and George Rodez come together to offer us just that through means of visual interpretation. With a sense of composition, form, enmeshed colors, straight and jagged lines, light and depth, these artists come together to bring order into the spoken word of Chaos. To view the work is to see the frenetic reality that life can sometimes be, but with the same token, it also offers us a sense of serenity and the beauty of knowing that life is exactly what it should be at all times.

Also on Saturday, stop by for more art like "Master Thesis Exhibition" at the Coconut Grove Arts Festival Gallery I and George Bethea at the Coconut Grove Arts Festival Gallery II.

The Art Stroll in the Mayfair Promenade offers free food, drinks and lots of entertainment. And the ArtWay66 Gallery in the Promenade is ground zero for entertainment on Gallery Walk Night. The gallery has the work of over a dozen artists, and also has all sorts of live performances and music. There are refreshments and it's a great place to mix and mingle.

Lulu's in the Grove will be offering a free glass of champagne to all Grove Gallery Walkers.

Calamari Restaurant invites art lovers to a complimentary glass of red or white wine from 7 :00 to 10:00 pm at the bar.

Peacock Garden Cafe will celebrate creativity with a complimentary glass of white sangria with chopped apples and basil.

The Coconut Grove Drum Circle is in the back of Florentine Plaza on Main Highway, where everyone can join in from 8 to 10 pm, play drums, dance, enjoy!

Blu Moon Studio above the drum circle on the very top floor, is showing student art. Stop in for refreshments and enjoy Sheri Friedman's comfortable artist pad. It's the way the Grove used to be.

The GroveHouse Artists Gallery back at the Mayfair Promenade will have a juried Grid Show: "All Bets Are Off" features the work of Karen Deilke, who also runs the drum circle, so Karen will be a busy girl that night. Light refreshments will be served. And if you need a last minute Mother's Day gift -- this is the place for original art at a price you can afford.

The famous Disney Artist Jozza is going to be at the Max in the Grove Gallery on Saturday during Gallery Walk.
