Phase two of "Pink Wall" renovation starts Monday

The second phase of the "Pink Wall" replacement on US1 will begin Monday, May 23. It's part of the City's Capital Improvements Program, where a new privacy wall will be constructed also drainage improvements will be made along with milling and resurfacing. Six months is the expected completion time.

Construction will start near the intersection of SW 19 Avenue and US 1, heading east towards SW 17 Avenue. The lane nearest the wall will be closed while the work will be done, so that side of US1 will be reduced from three to two lanes and at times, one lane.

The closure will be Mondays through Thursdays from noon to 8 pm and Friday from noon to 5 pm. Double lane closures will take place Friday nights from midnight to 9 am Saturday and Saturday night at midnight through Sunday at 9 am.
