Niemeyer files ethics complaint against Sarnoff

Miami City Commission candidate Michelle Niemeyer has filed a complaint with the Miami-Dade Commission on Ethics and Trust today regarding the misuse of public resources, specifically the employees and resources of the Downtown Development Authority, by DDA Chairman Marc Sarnoff for campaign purposes.

Ms. Niemeyer, an attorney and current Chairperson of the Coconut Grove Village Council, stated, "This action cannot be ignored. Our City suffers from a reputation for corruption and abuse of power which is harming our ability to attract and retain business and jobs for our residents."

Ms. Niemeyer's complaint has been copied to the State Attorney's office. Niemeyer will be giving a statement today at 5 pm at Niemeyer Campaign Headquarters, 3334 Virginia Street.

Investigation Miami
ran a story today regarding this. Ironically, they mentioned three of the other candidates running for the District 2 seat, but not Niemeyer in their article.
