A tribute to the Annual International Ballet Festival

The Rodez Art Gallery at CocoWalk, pays tribute to the XVI Annual International Ballet Festival of Miami 2011 with an art exhibition featuring 20 artists presenting works inspired by the dance. The exhibit opens tonight, September 3, during Gallery Walk, from 7 to 10 pm. All galleries are open tonight during Gallery Walk.



At Rodez, these contemporary artists pay tribute to the International Ballet Festival through means of sculptures, paint, brush strokes and canvases. Guided by the hand of the artist, offering us a glimpse into the private world of ballerinas and setting stage for the audience that secretly looks on, and awaiting to applaud the grand finale in all its splendor and glory.



Participating artists are: Orestes Bouzon, Vicente Dopico-Lerner, Lidia Godoi, Marcy Grosso, Mildrey Guillot, Mila Hajjar, Michel Hernandez, Pablo Hernandez, MANO, Annie Maxwell, Santos Mendez, Tony Mendoza, Leonor Murciano, Tony Nunez, Islay Franz Rod, George Rodez, Mari Sanchez, Ana Maria Sarlat, Dania Sierra, and Evelyn Valdirio. On Saturday, September 10 from 7 to 10 pm, a special fundraiser will be held at the gallery to benefit the Miami Hispanic Ballet. Additionally, on closing night, Saturday, September 24, a special silent auction and benefit will be held for Coconut Grove's own Margo Cignac.
