Wine tasting at The Loft with Alfajores

The Loft is having a special wine tasting tonight, August 13 with Alfajores -- cookies filled with Dulce de Leche, a perfect desert for any occasion.



Wines tonight include:



Domaine de Rieux, France :This superb Domaine is owned by the Grassa family, situated in the heart of the Gascony region, in the South West of France. Served Chilled, it is very refreshing throughout the day as an aperitif or with a meal is delicious with salads, seafood, fish and all Asiatic dishes.



Auka, Argentina: The AUKA used to have a ritual that consisted of making a drawing on the ground through which they asked their gods (moon and sun) for water, to irrigate their lands, essential for their lives.



Auka, Syrah 2007: Presents a purplish red with bluish shades. The nose offers intense and ripe aromas of red and black fruits (raspberry, plum and cherries) and spicy aromas (black pepper). It also has notes of vanilla and chocolate. The mouth feel is full bodied, highly structured, concentrated and meaty on the palate. French oak aged for 6 months



Auka, Cabernet Sauvignion 2008: Deep garnet colour. On the nose it is complex, spicy with aromas of plum and raspberry. On the palate it is fresh, sweet and creamy with a touch of plum and a long finish. The finish is excellentst French oak aged for 6 months.




The Loft is at 3190 Commodore Plaza, stop by, sit outside, enjoy the wine and a fine cigar. It's a fun, comfortable place to hang out.
