Bring your tailgating game to FestiDan!

It's FestiDan time again, you know, the big taigate party with lots of beer and music, all designed to raise money for the ALS Recovery Fund and Coconut Grove's School of Arts and Minds. This all started as a birthday party for Dan Travieso at his house. And now, it's quite a large charity event. Last year, part of Virginia Street, in front of The Grove Spot was closed down, a stage was set up and it was party central. This year, the venue is larger, much larger. It's in Peacock Park!

On August 20, the all-day event takes place. Bands performing include Spill the Wine, Day Music Died and Keyrats. Tickets are on sale now, $25 gets you in and gets you drinks and all the music you can handle.

According to Dan, "In preparation for the upcoming football season it is important to test out all of your tailgating equipment. On August 20th, you will have the opportunity to do so. There will be no football or baseball game that you need to loosen up for, just a tailgate party."

You bring your tent, lawn games and friends; they’ll provide the beer, live music and a giant Slip n slide! And best of all, every penny raised goes to charity. This is the concept behind “Festidan.”
