Why aren't we part of the City's trolley system?

art4

The City's new trolley system, which includes routes all around the city of Miami is leaving Coconut Grove out of the mix. They are drawing up routes now, according to an article in The Miami Herald.

One of the routes goes from Mary Brickell Village, up Biscayne Boulevard to NE 29th Street, then goes to the Shops of Midtown and into the Design District. Another goes from Little Havana to the hospitals at the Civic Center and another connects Overtown, Allapattah and Coral Way.

What about Coconut Grove? Why are we being left out? Above, Donna Sweeny and Kent Tate took advantage of the trolley when it ran around the Grove last year as part of Art Basel night. I think many of us would use the system to get around Miami.

The Herald story is
here and there is a detailed map of the routes on Facebook here.
