Barnacle is going to the dogs for Dogs Days

It's the Dog Days of Summer at The Barnacle, a full day of fun on Sunday, August 7 from noon to 4:30 pm.

Cool off by the bay as The Barnacle goes to the dogs. Watch demonstrations by working and sporting dogs, including the Miami Police Canine Detail and Paws in Motion agility trainers. Bring a picnic or buy burgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers, chips, soft drinks, and ice cream from The Barnacle Society. Between dog demonstrations chill out to music provided by Zip Robertson and Eric Wagner of Solar Dogs, a local favorite.

Most of all enjoy that cool breeze coming off the bay.

As always during regular park hours, well-behaved pets on six foot hand-held leashes are welcome in the park. Don’t have a dog? Let the Humane Society of Greater Miami introduce you to one of the adoptable dogs they will be bringing.

The Barnacle Historic State Park is located at 3485 Main Highway. Event admission is included in the regular park fee of $2 per person; children 5 and under are free. The park opens at 9:00 a.m. with activities from noon to 4:30 p.m. Park closes at 5:00 p.m. Blankets or lawn chairs and picnics are welcome, but alcohol is not permitted.
