Another successful year for FestiDan

festidan1

Over 700 people showed up for FestiDan this year, which was held over the weekend at Peacock Park. That's over $18,000 raised for the ALS Recovery Fund. ALS is also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. Good news this week regarding that. The cause of ALS has been found, which could lead to treatment. Story in Chicago Tribune.

It started out slow at 3 pm, but as the sun came down, the crowds started pouring in. One large section of the park was cordoned off for the FestiDan partiers.

Each year, Dan Travieso and friends, including Jonathan Alfonso, throw the bash in honor of Dan's birthday, but it's of course all about the charity and raising money for that. There was lots of beer, music and fun flowing in Peacock Park on Saturday.
