The Mad Hatter Festival is back this October

The 7th Annual Mad Hatter Arts Festival returns this year to Coconut Grove on October 29 and 30 after a hiatus last year. The Festival will be held on the grounds of The Barnacle Historic State Park and along the sidewalks of Main Highway from The Cloisters to Calamari, which is totally opposite of the last one, two years ago, which was on the other end of town from Mary Street to Virginia Street on Grand Avenue.

This juried event features artists of all types of media. Artists wishing to be considered in the jury process should submit an application.

This year's festival is shaping up to be quite the event as music, contests, and fun for the whole family encircle the main attraction of this festival: artists’ original works.

Be a part of this zany arts festival -- for more information or to request an application packet, contact

That is Audrey Gibson, as the Mad Hatter, in the photo. Audrey is also part of the group seeking artist for the next GroveHouse Artsits Gallery exhibit -- a themed show called, "The Power of Color." There is an open call for artists for this, too. The exhibit will be in the GroveHouse Gallery from August 28 through September 23 and the opening reception will be on Gallery Walk night, which is September 3.

For all the details for that, please contact Isabelle at artistizi@aol.com.
