The Rodez Art Gallery at CocoWalk is presenting ART MACtown this month. Founded in 1962, MACtown Inc. is a not-for-profit charitable organization whose primary mission over the past 49 years has been to improve the lives and further the independence of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in South Florida.MACtown offers a variety of programs and services that have been specifically tailored to meet the individual needs of the people they serve. The organization is determined to help each individual accomplish their independent living goals and maximize their full potential.
This piece, "Golden Waves of Clouds," by Joshua Berman, is a 10" x 10" acrylic on canvas.
The gallery is exhibiting the works of over 100 of MACtown’s participants created under the direction of artist George Rodez.
Artworks will each be in a small format with one grand piece created by all participants. All proceeds will go to benefit MACtown.
The vernissage will be held tonight, Saturday, August 6, during the Coconut Grove Gallery Walk from 7 to 10 pm. And, then later in the month, there is a Spectacular Silent Auction Benefiting MACtown on Friday, August 19, from 6 to 10 pm. Bidding on each 10" x 10" original acrylic on canvas piece will start at $50.
