The loss of our friend Camilo Salazar

From St. Stephen's Church:

It is with great sadness that I write to let you know that we have suffered an incomprehensible tragedy within our St. Stephen's community. Our parishioner Camilo Salazar was the victim of a homicide earlier this week. The Miami Dade County Police Department are deploying their best resources towards solving this crime.

The Salazar and Lewis families will be receiving friends between 7 and 10 pm this Wednesday night, June 8, in the Parish Center; a Requiem Mass will be held in the church on Thursday, June 9, at 4 pm followed by a reception in the Parish Center.

Camilo is survived by Daisy Lewis-Salazar (our Art Show Director), their infant daughter Skyler, Camilo's daughter Ava, his father Eduardo, mother Maria Ines, sister Carolina, nephew Aidan, mother-in-law Susan Lewis and her husband Paul. I know you will join me in holding them all in prayer and loving support.

"Father of all, we pray to you for Camilo and for all those whom we love but see no longer. Grant to him eternal rest. Let light perpetual shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen." Book of Common Prayer, p. 498

Also, it was requested that we put the word out for people to write down stories or anecdotes about Camilo that can be given to Daisy and their daughters to remember him. Also, any photos that you may have, please send them to me at the Grapevine and I will pass them on to those coordinating the effort.
