Last week, Peacock Garden Café owners Eduardo (Lalo) Durazo and Eduardo del Rivero received a proclamation honoring the restaurant’s contribution to the history of Coconut Grove.
“Lalo is a true Grovite and truly understands what it means to live and work in Coconut Grove,” said City of Miami Commissioner Marc Sarnoff to a gathering of friends and city officials.
Guided by esteemed South Florida historian Arva Moore Parks, Peacock Garden Café was designed to capture the essence of Coconut Grove. Located on the previous site of Union Congregational Church and decorated with early photos and historical documents, the restaurant is a tribute to the personalities and history of the beloved neighborhood. I hear they have a third kind of sangria now, sweeter than the other two. It's a perfect place to enjoy the garden and sip sangria.
