Experience the power of storytelling through the words of nationally acclaimed storyteller Carrie Sue Ayvar at the Sierra Club's meeting on Monday, June 13 at the Coconut Grove Sailing Club (2990 S. Bayshore Drive).Mrs. Ayvar will bring to life Dr. Anne Darrow, the "Petticoat Doctor of the Everglades." Known as “Doc Anner” she braved swampland, alligators, venomous snakes and dangerous outlaw gangs in order to heal the sick, nurse thewounded and deliver babies. As Dr. Darrow said, “If you’ve never heard the roar of a bull alligator and some night bird answer, you haven’t lived.”
Everyone is welcome to join. Light refreshments will be served. Free parking is available at the Sailing Club.
