Sometimes the simplest ways are the best

Last week's Merchants Meeting went well, many of the topics discussed were already reported on in the Grapevine. The meeting was well attended, too.

One very interesting and funny thing happened at the end of the long meeting. The subject of the bus signs came up, the ones we discussed
here. It ended up being a lively discussion and everyone got so excited over the idea of having a chalk board where the tourists exit the buses, explaining what's what in the Grove that day.

Everyone starting getting animated and talking over each other and the comical part is that this is a such a simple idea -- a chalk board and chalk. In this day of digital media and social networking with Facebook and Twitter and blogs and texting, the simplest method of all got all the attention.

So now the plan will go ahead. We're thinking of just buying the board, calling it "The Grapevine Board" and sticking it up in front of Palm Produce. Tourists can say, "I saw it on the Grapevine that you are giving 50% off today or that there is a book signing today or that breakfast comes with free Mimosa's today . . . "
