The final Get Rolling Gathering before the actual Great Grove Bed Race is this Thursday, August 19 at the Sandbar Grill (3064 Grand Avenue) from 7 to 10 pm. The Sandbar is psyched to be sponsoring the Finish Line. They'll be setting up high boys and service on race day, September 5.
You can still register your team online or at Thursday's gathering. August 21 is the final day for registering a bed. 50 beds is the limit and there are only five more openings, so get in now before it's too late. Above is the Mayfair team at last year's race, they recreated the fountain from the Mayfair Promenade.
You can gain one inch of lead time for each person you bring to the gathering. It doesn't have to be a team member, bring your family and friends and gain an inch for each one!
There are drink specials all night and a raffle to benefit the Alonzo Mourning Charities and UM, each ticket purchased includes a free beer or specialty cocktail.
Model beds will be on hand along with experts who can help you with your bed building. And get a sneak peek at the improved race course and VIP area.
