You never know what you'll find at the Mayfair Antiques and Collectibles Market, Tony Angoine is showing off a piece that literally found it's way home. It's a little bronze bust created by Kenneth Treister, the architect of the Mayfair complex. Treister also created the Holocaust Memorial on Miami Beach and is an artist and quite a Renaissance man.
The Mayfair is quite beautiful, but back in the day, the original complex housed the ultimate in shopping, it was a multi-level shopping experience with many fountains and features with the likes of Burdines, Versace, Gucci and Pucci stores and their ilk.
To get a little peak of what the Mayfair shopping complext looked like, visit the Mayfair hotel atrium and that's sort of a replica, built at the same time, but not as large and glamorous as Treister's shopping village.By the way, Mary MacDonald did wear that funky hat (left) to Mad Men Monday; the one she found at the Antique Market last weekend during the Gallery Walk. People really liked it and wanted to buy it from her.
The Antique Market is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 11 am to 6 pm each day. Stop in and check it out, you never know what you'll find.
