Just back from her first Triathlon in Hawaii, Magui Martinez-Pena has opened Trijungle, "your ultimate source for Triathlon gear and expertise," in the Grove. They are located at 2829 Bird Avenue on the second floor. Above, at the store are Magui, Lili and Bandido.
Happy athletes is the goal of Trijungle and being an athlete herself in Triathlons gives Magui the edge over other stores, as she knows what she is talking about. Why not ask the expert when it comes to this?
She has completed two Half Iron distance triathlons, several Olympic distance triathlons, dozens of spring races, a full marathon and two half-marathons. She also has her spinning instructor certification.On Thursdays, Magui and her coaching company, Star Endurance can be found at Kennedy Park for running and boot camp sessions. Lili, her staff member at the store is also on hand.
Trijungle is fully stocked with popular brands like Orca, Louis Garneau, 2XU and Garmin. Mascot Maltese Bandido, is always a fixture at the store. “We could not have Trijungle without Bandido. He gives it the special touch, and acts as our host and security guard, letting us know when a customer walks in,” Magui says with a rub of Bandido’s ears.
