Entertainment for the kids planned for Bed Race

Virginia Street will become a Family Pajama Village on Great Grove Bed Race day, Sept. 5.

The Miami Conservatory of Music (MCA) will participate by bringing keyboards, drums and all size guitars and violins. They'll also have recorders, mics and amplifiers for voice.

Besides having a few of the MCA students perform, children in the audience will be asked to come up on stage to sing and/or play to enter a raffle. Prizes include iTune cars, music toys, free music lessons and more.

Children will also be able to try all the instruments and ask questions of the teachers. There will also be story times with musical accompaniment. Lara Jonasson, a teacher in charge of the Academy's reading department and John Robitaille from the University of Miami will read stories related to pajamas and race cars and themes in line with the Bed Race.

There will also be other games and a petting zoo and lots of family events on Race Day.

MCA Academy is located in the same area as the Conservatory of Music, behind the Shoppes of Mayfair on Oak Avenue, in Coconut Grove.
