A&M quite busy on first day of school

am3
Today was the first day of school countywide. The Academy of Arts and Minds (A&M) on Commodore Plaza was quite busy with 460 students on the plaza by 7:00 am. A&M opened the day with full enrollment -- its largest to date.

Two new rooms were added, the art room was reconfigured to accommodate an increase in budding artists, the graphic arts/photography class was moved and redesigned and another office was added for A&M's new Assistant Director. In addition, eight new Master Teachers came onboard as Director William Machado and Co-Founders Manuel Alonso-Poch and Lili Renteria strive to make it the premier academy in Miami-Dade County.

Teacher Octavio Campos was there early to welcome students.

Creative Writing strand master teacher Andrea DeHaan in her new room on the first floor. Love how the class faces George's in the Grove. Must make them hungry all day.
