After Sunday's World Cup finale, The Grove Spot announced "The Most Knowledgeable Fan." This was a person who played along during each game and answered the most questions correctly. It ended up being my friend Armando Paz. No wonder he would ask me to meet him at The Grove Spot for the World Cup games all the time, he was playing the trivia game as well as enjoying the World Cup. That's Love Levy and JC Santely from The Grove Spot along with Armando's sister Raquel Paz cheering him on.
He says he was surprised he won because he "missed six games." But weren't there dozens of games? He was there for all those? Guess, so, he ended winning the EZ Notebook, which he generously handed over to Raquel. He's now ready for all the Heat games.
Margo Alvarez won a tv in a raffle drawing. My friend Vinnie and I entered the drawing, too, not realizing you had to pay for tickets, we just filled in the forms and threw them in the jar. Luckily we didn't win, that could have been embarrassing. One college student asked me how many times I was going to enter, as she also filled in a form, we all decided to not be greedy and we just put one slip each in the jar. Not that we won, but it would have been awkward if they kept pulling out slips of paper with all of our names on them. I was going to give her the tv if I won. That would have even been more embarrassing, having to take the tv back because we didn't actually purchase raffle tickets. So we were all thrilled when Margo won.
PS, we found out that it was free to enter the drawing for the tv, so nevermind. :)
