Getting ready for 4th of July

Now that Memorial Day has come and gone, I guess we can say that summer is here. Time for watermelon, ice cream, picnics and 4th of July.

There's another July 4th meeting this week. At the last meeting, I brought up the things that some of you asked me to suggest for 4th of July like the egg toss and sack races and hot dog eating contest. We are also planning a scavenger hunt, I don't know how that will work, but that is in the works.

There will also be a lot of music -- bands and such and of course the whole day will start with the Barnacle's usual old fashioned 4th of July picnic. It of course will end with the amazing fireworks show in Peacock Park.

We are thinking that many people won't spend the whole date here, there probably will be "shifts," you know, people here in the morning and people here midday and people here later in the afternoon for fireworks. Some hearty souls may spend the whole day and hopefully no matter what time people arrive, there will be some sort of activity to keep them entertained.
