The first Thursday of every month (next one is April 2) is "AmJam" at A&M -- the Arts and Minds School (3138 Commodore Plaza). Everyone is welcome -- to perform or to just be part of the audience.
It's an open call for artists, musicians, singers, dancers, actors, stand-ups and visual artists. Shows are performed on the terrace -- 7:30 for students and 9:00 pm for professionals. Pizza and refreshments are provided by Al Fresco restaurant.
The musicians jam session started out as part of the educational program at Arts and Minds and quickly turned into a "happening" involving the multiple art forms.
The March AmJam began with Cystem 32 from A&M and then the Voice and Safiok Brains did a unique techno piece, before you knew it, so many acts ended up performing.
