Shake-A-Leg Miami (2620 S. Bayshore Drive) is offering sailing classes in January. Adult classes are January 8, 15, 22 and 29. There are 16 hours of instructions, total.
Each class is from 9:30 am to 1:20 pm. Learn sailing fundamentals including boat dynamics and handling, tacking and jibing, sail trim, weather and safe boating skills and more on their fleet of 20 foot sloops. Classes consist of both classroom and on-water instruction. No prior experience is necessary. Cost is $335 ($200 for members).
Youth sailing classes are January 8, 15, 16, 17 22 and 29. Time is 1:30 to 4:30 each time. There are introductory and intermediate levels. The classes are similar to the adult classes with sailing fundamentals and boating dynamics as the main focus. Cost is $195, this includes registration for the Alex Caviglia Bluewater Regatta, which is January 15-17. No prior experience is necessary for the class or regatta.
