Gallery Walk is Saturday night

uta1
My friend Uta created this piece of art. I found it interesting because it was right over the food on Gallery Walk night, which seemed odd. It's not your typical centerpiece. The food was good though, it was at the GroveHouse.

I ran a story on the original GroveHouse from the 1960s and '70s, a lot of people told me they didn't see it, so if you're interested, it's here. I think it's quite interesting and you might like it.

Speaking of the GroveHouse, they will be open with many of the galleries on the night of January 1, 2011 for the First Saturday Gallery Walk. From 7 to 10 pm, stop in for some refreshments and lots of art. The Promenade will be full with art, music and food, too. The theme is "Nature, Up Close and Abstract." Carol Kingsley is the featured artist for January.

Artway66, across the Promenade will also be open and so will the Coconut Grove Arts Gallery in the atrium, where the John Angee sculptures are still up. They were installed in November for Art Basel Night.

The Rodez Gallery at CocoWalk is featuring "Personalities," an exploration of the relationship between emotional states and art. It's a George Rodez solo exhibit.
