Traffic survey being conducted in Center Grove

The county has started their traffic survey to see if the change of traffic patterns in the Center Grove should go ahead. The plans are outlined here. So far we heard that they were approved by the county and they are just doing surveys at this point, but it seems that they want to see if there is a need to redo the whole traffic pattern because there are those rubber counters across a few of the streets that are to be changed.

There's one on Grand Avenue near the Bookstore and another is on South Bayshore Drive, where the idea is to convert two lanes on each side into one.

The former plans did not include the Virginia Street closing, which is still being discussed. A drawing of the concept, shown here, was presented to the Village Council last Thursday, by Ron Nelson, Commissioner Marc Sarnoff's chief of staff. The Village Council had many questions about the plan to close Virginia. Some are confused, some feel it is a major artery and needs to be open, others feel it is not a problem.
