New Beer Garden planned for CocoWalk

CocoWalk has some good news. Benito Meluzio and Daniel Salgado, operators of several restaurants in New York, North Carolina and Palm Beach, FL are opening Central Beer Garden at CocoWalk in a 17,000 square foot space.

The two story site will feature indoor and outdoor seating, there will be a dance floor and Sushi and other specialty foods. According to Wikipedia, "a Biergarten is an open-air area where beer, other drinks and local food, usually German, are served. The concept originates from and is most common in Southern Germany (especially Bavaria). It is usually attached to a drinking establishment such as a public house or a beer hall."

Sushi Central will be on the first level, where you will enter to dance music and entertainment. An innovative sound and light system, new to South Florida, will greet the senses.

The upper level will contain an entire beer garden-style restaurant featuring over 50 beers, domestic and imported. A variety of music will be played from classic rock to Latin sounds. There will be live music and DJ's and dancers.

The open style kitchen and Sushi bar will serve a mixture of tastes. There will also be a cutting edge clothing store on site.

The scheduled opening is Winter 2011. That's January or February 2011. But for you Asian food lovers, CocoWok is still on schedule to open this October, this is the take-out place on Virginia Street, next to The Grove Spot.
