Rodez Gallery celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month

The Rodez Gallery this month is presenting "Raices: The Root of All Things," premiering Saturday, October 2 at a party from 7 to 10 pm.

They're celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with the collective exhibition that pays tribute to contemporary Hispanic visual artists of South Florida. They are sharing the culture and traditions of U.S. resident artists who trace their roots to Spain, Mexico, Central and South America and the Spanish speaking countries of the Caribbean.

A total of 31 artists will showcase their original artwork from oils, acrylics, and mixed media paintings to sculptures. The image on the left is by George Rodez, it's called "Conga Player," acrylic on canvas board.

Meet the artists on Saturday and enjoy wine and snacks. The exhibit will be on display through October. A special fundraiser will be held on Wednesday, October 13 from 6 to 8 pm to benefit the Young Patronesses of the Opera.

The Rodez Gallery is on the second floor at CocoWalk, next to Crazy Pianos. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday, 11 am to 7 pm and Friday and Saturday, 11 am to 10 pm.
