The Thelma Gibson Health Initiative is holding a Youth Leadership Summit on June 14 and 15 at The Mutiny Hotel (2951 S. Bayshore Drive).
This is for ages 10 to 18, there is no cost and the summer includes lunch and transportation.
There will be two workshops each day designed to encourage youth to step into leadership roles in their community.
On the agenda, discussions will include Youth Leadership, Gun Violence, Sexting, Job Prep and Professionalism, Fitness for Life and Problem Solving. Up to 14 hours of community service hours will be awarded after the seminar is completed.
