The Kampong presents Arva Moore Parks

On Thursday, May 20, The Kampong’s Lecture Series presents Arva Moore Parks. Arva will preview her newest publication, which focuses on Coconut Grove.

Arva Moore Parks is a Miami native, historian, author, preservationist and community leader. She has authored, co-authored, edited or contributed to more than 30 books and film documentaries. More than an objective onlooker, Arva has taken an active role in improving her hometown, preserving its historic landmarks and bringing its diverse people together.

“We are so pleased to welcome Arva to The Kampong. She is one of the most respected and well-known historians in Miami and a captivating speaker,” stated Ann Parsons, director of The Kampong.

Gates will open at 6:30 pm with a reception sponsored by Whole Foods Market. The lecture begins at 7 pm. The Kampong is at 4013 South Douglas Road.
