Royal Poinciana Festival celebrates the season

The 73rd annual Royal Poinciana Festival is Sunday, June 13 at The Kampong. The gates will open at 11:30 am, admission to The Kampong (4013 S. Douglas Road) will be free that day.

At 2 pm, board the trolley, which will be outside the gates and take a narrated tour through Coconut Grove, Coral Gables and South Miami. Discover the history of the fiesta, useful plant information, and the most beautiful bright red specimen trees in Miami.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to see the impact of Royal Poinciana Trees in the city,” stated Ann Parsons, Director of The Kampong. “I highly recommend this tour!”

The traditional Poinciana punch and cake will be served following the 2-hour tour. Reservations are required for the tour; cost is $20 per person and ticket sales benefit the Tropical Flowering Tree Society (TFTS).
