Success has forced them to expand

The look like they are in little pods as the students fill the overflowing classrooms at
Academy of Arts & Minds Charter High School, on Commodore Plaza. Registrar Sandii Sellers reports that more than 720 applications have been received for the 150 available spots for the 2010-2011 school year.

Two more large classrooms are being added over the summer to accommodate the 460 or so students next year.

The school's choreographer and dancer Octavio Campos was recently singled out by the
Knight Foundation.
