Roaming peaocks to be Grove mascot?

Heather Bettner brought up the idea of making peacocks the official mascot/bird of Coconut Grove at the Chamber luncheon the other day. That's a touchy subject around here but she likes the idea of having flags flying with peacocks and maybe having a peacock logo on various places around the Grove, like maybe on the Chamber logo, etc.

The gas lights were an image on some letterheads and things, but since they are going away, maybe something does need to replace that image.

The slogan for the Grove could be "Visit Coconut Grove - where the Peacocks are wild, as well as the people!"

I still like "We put the nut in Coconut Grove," better.
