17th Century Baroque Concert at Vizcaya tomorrow

Claudio Monteverdi's Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda will premier Friday, at Vizcaya's Il Furioso, an international Boroque music celebration, inspired by Vizcaya's Venetian inspired design.

This is 17th Century music -- voices, lutes, harpsichords will bring you back centuries.

Italian tenor Gian Paolo Fagotto, with harpsichordist Robert Heath and musicians from FIU and UM will complete the performance. The concert will include an unstaged 25-minute scena for three singers, string band, and continuo from Torquato Tasso's Gerusalemme Liberata (Jerusalem Delivered).

The concert is tomorrow, April 17 at 7:30 pm, at Vizcaya, 3251 S. Miami Avenue.

Tickets are $20.00 for Vizcayans and $30.00 for the general public. For info: 305-669-1376. or: http://www.miamibachsociety.org/
