Six Views in Fiber

I was walking by and before you know it, I was helping hang a couple of these great quilts the other day. You may remember I did a story on one of the artists a bit over a year ago, Marianne R. Williamson. She has her work here again with other artists from Saturday's opening reception until October 5, 2013. Marianne told me there are lots of new pieces.

The quilts in this exhibition are contemporary in nature and do not necessarily follow the rules of traditional quilts. The artists who created these incredibly beautiful and unique quilts push the boundaries with their quilt art, they explore design, concepts and ideas in a distinctly different way of working from the traditional approach to the craft. Their creativity, sense of design and color, plus their close attention to detail and excellent craftsmanship honors the creative efforts evident in the entire spectrum of quilt making.

This is your opportunity to see them again. Opening reception is Saturday, September 7, from 7 to 10 pm at the Coconut Grove Arts Festival Gallery. The daily hours are 9 am to 5 pm, the gallery is at the Mayfair Atrium, near the Bull.
