Film fans excited about Bogart Film Fest

The inaugural Humphrey Bogart Film Festival is taking place in Key Largo from May 2 thrugh 5. Bogart's son, Stephen Bogart, along with film critic Leonard Maltin are the hosts for the weekend, along with the Key Largo Chamber of Commerce

Key Largo, of course, is the setting for one of Bogart's most famous films with the same title. The 1948 film, "Key Largo," starred Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Bogart's wife and Stephen's mother; Edward G. Robinson, Lionel Barrymore and Claire Trevor.

“We have long been looking for a natural home for a family-backed Bogie film fest, and we believe there is no better place than Key Largo,” said Stephen Bogart.

A formal ball will accompany a weekend of Bogart movies. There will be memorabilia on display and tours on the fully restored African Queen.

"I'm so excited, he's one of my film heroes!" exclaimed Lois Freed, Miami film fan.
