Campo Deluxe is back at Arts Festival this year

The Campo Deluxe Band is playing the Coconut Grove Arts Festival again this year -- their fourth year at the festival.

They are on stage, Monday, February 21 at 1:30 pm. Ronnie Brooks, shown above, who leads the group, has played with Miami legend Wayne Cochran and his CC Riders a the old Niki's Cabaret at Dadeland Towers. He's also played with Ira Sullivan, Gerry Mulligan, "Calhoon" and others.

They have played all over, including Cafe Tu Tu Tangos, Marguerita Mama's in Coconut Grove, and even at the Bonaire Jazz Festival.

Ronnie Brooks plays drums, percussion and sings. Other members of Campo Deluxe include Greg Diaz on vocals, saxophone and flute. He's a very much in demand premier artist whose performance resume includes such well known artists as Ira Sullivan, Phil Woods, Patrice Rushen, Tito Puente, Ed Thigpen, Bob Mintzer, The Temptations, Ben E. King, Willy Chirino, Chayenne and many others.

Mitch Goldstein, one of South Florida's most in demand keyboardists has worked with Juanita Dixon, Lou Donaldson, Ink Spots with Jim Nabbie, George Benson,Pat Metheny, Archie Shepp and many others too numerous to mention.

Jeff Carswell, one of the area's premier Jazz bassists, plays Electric Bass and upright Bass. He has played with Mel Torme, Steve Lawrence and Edie Gorme,Duffy Jackson and Freddie Hubbard.

They have a repertoire of every R&B and Jazz style Imaginable -- Swing Jazz, Latin Jazz, Funk Jazz, Fusion Jazz, and above all, the traditional standards.
