Send a singing telegram for Valentine's Day!

Have you thought of sending a singing telegram this Valentine's Day? It's something different and special. The Singing Miamians chorus will go wherever you send them on Valentine's Day. They are an official chapter of The Barbershop Harmony Society.

Currently there are about 38 singing members, but over the years they have had as many as 120 members. They do small production shows and perform at various venues. They are preserving an artform.

One of their missions is to bring barbershop harmony to middle and high school students. Every year they host a youth harmony workshop for all Dade County students, boys and girls, in a central location. Last month their workshop drew over 250 students and music educators.

The main fundraising source for the workshops is the Singing Valentines Program. You can send one to anyone in Dade County on Valentines Day only for only $75 or pin it down to a more specific hour for a little bit more. A quartet dressed in tuxedos will descend upon your unsuspecting loved one within a four-hour window where ever she or he may be: work, school, home, restaurant, or even on the golf course. They will sing two beautiful love songs from the sender, present a rose bouquet and a personalized card from the sender, and take a photo with the quartet which will be sent to both parties by email.

It's truly an amazing experience for the recipient on Valentines Day, especially if it's in a public place and a big crowd gathers around. They have been responsible for several marriage proposals over the years.

You may contact them at 305-274-7464.
