The Coconut Grove Dog Rescue group is having a Spring Yard Sale on April 16 and 17, from 10 am to 6 pm both days. It's at 3072 Mary Street (the nearest cross streets are Jackson and Shipping).
It's almost a block party the way they do it, there are lots of items to buy, including food like homemade tacos and quesadillas. Last time they sold hot dogs and burgers, too. And there is usually a dog or two to adopt. If you have anything you would like to donate, you can email coconutgrovedogrescue@gmail.com or call 786-566-1303. They will pick up the items if you cannot deliver them.
The number of dogs abandoned in the Grove is increasing. Dogs are available for adoption that are currently in "foster care." The ones they have now are all "vetted" and ready to be taken home. You can see the list here.
The group is in desperate need of "foster families" to take care of pups when they are found. The group takes care of vet care, food, walking assistance etc. If interested, call them at 786-566-1303.
