Coffee House Gypsies performing at Grove Spot

The award winning Coffee House Gypsies will be performing at The Grove Spot (3324 Virginia Street) on Friday, November 12 at 1 am. The Gypsies feature an acoustic and unplugged singer/songwriter-styled performance. Tix are $10, sold at the door.

They played last in the Grove at the March Gifford Lane Art Stroll. They have been compared to Fleetwood Mac and The Mamas and The Papas. The Sun-Sentinel called them "a band of nomads that keeps moving through different styles and genres."

The band has has won several awards including one South Florida QOOL Shows Award for Best Pop Band and nine STATUS QuO South FL Live Music Awards in 2008 (including best show, best vocals, and best cover song) after receiving nominations in ten different categories. They have worked with names like Dorian Reyes (of Pangea and Red Rock Studios) and Kevin Michaels (Billboard music producer). Songs from their last release, The Artist, can be heard playing on Clear Channel Communication's WKEZ in the Florida Keys (96.9 upper keys and 93.5 lower keys) and as far North as WYEP in Pittsburgh.

The band has a standing residency at Miami's oldest and most famous bar and live music venue, Tobacco Road; for over a year they have held regular shows and "CHG & Friends" concerts featuring names such as Fernando Perdomo, Omine Eager, Radioboxer, and more, performing alongside The CHG as invited guests.

This performance in Coconut Grove on November 12, will be part of The 2010 Miami Music Festival, which is a featured event of Miami Music Month. For more information about The Miami Music Festival
