Village Council meeting tonight

The Village Council meets is tonight, January 21 at Ransom Everglades Middle School, Swanson Hall (2045 S. Bayshore Drive) from 7 to 9 pm.

There is one thing on the agenda that I am particularly interested in. That's the Grove Residents Parking Decals program. There has been talk since last summer about the program where residents would pay for a yearly decal allowing them to park in various places in the Grove without paying the parking meters.

Activist Sandy Speier will be presenting this tonight, along with the Miami Parking Authority.

Lately, I have been parking in the Bank Lot at Tigertail and Mary. It's well lit at night, always has an attendant with a smiling face to greet me and is just $45.00 per month, that's $1.50 a day, which is only one hour on the MPA marking meters, so if you park in the Grove for long periods of time this is a great deal.
