Mayor's Job Fair held today at City Hall

jobfair
The Mayor's Inaugural Job Fair was held today outside City Hall. It seemed slow going when we arrived, but we were told that a lot of people had been there throughout the day. The most popular thing was working for the Census Bureau, they seemed to be hiring on the spot. People had to fill in a 28-question form under the tent, and then they were moved on to the next step.

One booth was taking free photos for job resumes. Do resumes require photos now? Doesn't seem quite right, at least they were free. One booth was selling computers and courses on how to find a job. Another had a resume service.

So it seems as if a few of these companies involved perhaps did not get the concept that people were looking for jobs, and not looking for ways to spend money.

But it was a good start and a nice way to help the people of Miami with job searches.
