Return the Village Council to City Hall

People were upset that they didn't know about some of the condo meetings regarding the Grove Bay waterfront project this past month. Some are angry at me for not posting it, but I felt they were private condo meetings, which brings up the point, don't most condos and homeowner associations want to keep their meetings private without inviting the whole city to listen in? And to that point, when is the Coconut Grove Village Council going back to City Hall so they can be seen on tv again and have a respectable home?

Mayor Regalado told me personally, the night he was sworn into office in 2009, that the Village Council was "thrown out" to allow more room for other homeowner groups. He said that he wanted to give everyone a chance to be on tv and share their meetings.

Two things that are wrong with this:

1) I know it was not he who threw the Village Council out and he was just thrown under the bus in this case and accepted that.

2) Not many condos and homeowner groups want to share their private meetings with the city or anyone else with cable tv or internet.

So far, not one group has used the chambers since November 2009, when the Village Council was thrown out. Let them back, they use the chambers and it helps the community by having them in City Hall.
