Highway to Hops Tour on Miami Brew Bus

Given South Florida’s excitement over the craft beer revolution, Cecilia Barmon, her fiancée David Rodriguez and Matthew Kuscher, the owner of Lokal Miami came together to form Miami Brew Bus (MBB). It all started one day as they were enjoying a cold one, while contemplating Miami’s booming direction of craft beer. The three hatched the plan to create a highway to hops tour with the mission to further the craft beer movement and bring more awareness to what this city has to offer.

The Miami Brew Bus official inaugural tour will take off on December 1. All future tours will take place Friday, Saturday and Sundays. Beer enthusiasts will be picked up in Coconut Grove at 3190 Commodore Plaza before going on their tour. Beer stops will include Wynwood Brewing Company, home to one of the largest street art exhibits and where Wynwood creates a work of art in every glass; Funky Buddha Brewery in Oakland Park, Broward County’s first production brewery; and M.I.A., which is under final stages of construction, but can provide a unique view of brewing in the making.

On occasion, they will take special trips to Miami Brewing Company in Homestead. The four to five hour tour will offer flight samples of year-round beers at each location, which will equate to about 12-15 samples.  More importantly, patrons will be able to enjoy these tours in the comfort of a safe ride.  “We’re big craft beer fans, so it’s only natural for us to put together a way for South Floridians, and tourists alike, to enjoy the benefits of our talented breweries in a safe, comfortable and fun environment,” said Cecilia Barmon, co-owner of Miami Brew Bus.

Miami Brew Bus tours run $60 and can be booked via the web site at MiamiBrewBus.com. Closed-toe shoes are required, and you must be 21 and over to participate. To receive the latest news, “Like” their FB page at facebook.com/miamibrewbus. For additional information, call 786-558-3860.
