Design Miami's Global Forum for Design


Design Miami/ returns this year during Art Basel weekend, with its largest and most international gallery program to date. Featuring 37 galleries overall -- 31 in the main exhibition program and six in the On/Site program for solo exhibitions of new work –- this year's participants have been invited from 10 different countries, including first time exhibitors from Russia and Lebanon. Design Miami's gallery selection represents a broad range of specialist areas, from late 19th century art pottery, through masterworks of the mid 20th century to the most exciting developments at the cutting edge of contemporary design.

Included are:

Digital Design; Artist and Studio Jewelry; Emerging American Designers; Material Investigations; Designing Women; and Twentieth Century Masters.

Above, is a circa 1950s brooch by Margaret De Patta, showing at the Mark McDonald Gallery. The Design Miami/ Global Forum for Design tent will be set up at Meridian Avenue and 19th Street in South Beach, from December 4 to 8, 2013.
